IVLP, Open World, and Community Connections Program Updates

International Focus is progressing rapidly with International Visitor Leadership (IVLP), Open World, and Community Connections programs.

This past week, a delegation of educators from Saudi Arabia, studying religious and public education in the US, spent time in the area meeting with Governor McCrory and his education cabinet, as well as leaders at Shaw, Campbell, and Duke Universities, and the Islamic Association of Raleigh. These visitors were also given the opportunity to share in home hospitality with International Focus ED, Melissa Driver Beard, IF Board Member, Bearta Al-Chacar Powell, and Home Hospitality Volunteer, Aruna Shah.

Prior to hosting the Saudi Arabian delegation, IF welcomed Dr. Pietro de Matteis of the European Union. During his stay in the Research Triangle, he focused on learning more about US Domestic and Foreign Policy.

In the coming months, IF will be hosting groups from Belarus, Portugal, Russia, North Africa, Senegal, and Yemen. If you are interested in learning more about these programs and/or providing home hospitality, please contact Program Director, Leila Bekri at lbekri@internationalfocusnc.org or 919-782-0552.
